Stop Motion Videos!

Hello everybody.

I just wrote a long homework story over at Dad's blog.

I still draw and take pictures but the thing I like to do best now is stop-motion animation.

I have like 100 clone troopers and Justice League guys and I do stories with them on Dad’s old camera.

It is hard work because you have to take really short shots, then move the guys a little, then shoot again. And THEN when you’re all done with that you have to edit them on the computer so it looks like they’re moving.

I’m trying to learn how to add in special effects like in real movies and just figured out how to do lazer blasts and music. I put them up on Youtube so you can see.

I helped my sister do one too.

I wish I was as good as the other videos because they look really good. I just need to practice.

Bye!

Your friend,
Thomas

These are fantastic! I love stop animation, but I don't think I have the patience for it. Great work :)

He's back. He's back. He's baaaaaaaack!

Welcome back Thomas. We all missed you!

Oh my gosh that's AWESOME! Very cool, Thomas. Keep up the great work! Thanks for putting a smile on my face tonight.

Very cool. I think I know now what my kids are going to want to do tomorrow. My daughters are 8 (almost 9) and 6 years old. They have loads of Clone Wars figures, too, but more Barbies, probably.
How long did it take you to make one movie? Those laser shots look really cool. I tried stop motion animation before, too, and it took SO long, but it was definitely fun! I'm glad you're enjoying yourself. Whatever art you do, you're going to do it better if it makes you happy. It's good that you're doing what you want to do with it.

Cool! My brothers used to do all kinds of stop motion animation movies. Back then there was no computer editing software available to normal people, so they had to edit by copying the video from tape to tape in a VCR. It took a lot of time and patience but it was really neat.

Can't wait to see all the awesome videos you make!

You're off to a great start. I don't have the patience to do this (which sucks, because I have the Batman legos and making movies with them would be awesome).

Have you seen www.brickfilms.com? They have a lot of info you may find useful. Just so you don't have to reinvent the wheel when you're filming.

You're one creative little guy. Nicely done. :)

Those videos were great! I think it's really nice of you to do a video for your sister too and Yoda as the minister made me laugh out loud. That part was really funny. I can't wait to see what creative stuff you're up to next.

Thomas - As you may remember, I do voice-overs for a living. That is, I'm one of the guys whose voice you hear on commercials. If you ever have a voice-over you'd like done on your animations, I'd be happy to supply you with a recording - free of charge. If you send me a script, I'll read it and send you back a recording. Just something to keep in mind.

Hey Thomas, nice to see you posting stuff again. I saw a good stop motion video the other day called T-Shirt War...here is the link if you want to check it out:

Looking forward to see more of your vids as you post them here.

Welcome back to the writing/blog world Thomas - great job on the videos now :)

I really like the wedding dance one...

Thomas, those are EPIC!!!!

I love doing stop motion - you are right, it can be really tedious, but then when you get done, it is so cool!

I can't wait to see more of what you are doing!

Old Auntie Thim :)

These are awesome!!

Takes time and practise. Bet you're already there. Congrats on POTW nomination...

Hello Thomas! Both of these videos are fantastic, and a great deal of fun to watch. Thank you so much for sharing them with us.

I particularly liked that you used Star Wars action figures, those guys need more fun in their lives, don't they? It can't all be about stopping the Evil Empire, sometimes they just need to spend some time dancing.

My son's older than you are, but he's very interested in acting, and has friends in college who are film majors (studying to be film-makers, in some instances). I hope you stay interested making films, you are off to a great start, and have a great imagination.

Maybe someday you'll be a world famous director, and I'll be remembering, "Oh yes, I remember his early work!" and remember how delightful it was.

This was a lot of work, wasn't it? I'm so glad Hilary put it up as a Post of the Week, and congratulations to you on the very well deserved mention :-)

You are talented! Congrats on POTW mention from Hilary

Very clever. Well done. Reminds me of the flicker pictures we did in our exercise books all those years ago.

Hey Thomas! Those are great. I was really impressed with the laser blasts, and your sister's video really made me laugh. Keep up the good work. :)

Welcome back!! I still have a drawing you made for me back in 2005 called "Super Lizards"

From the ashes of previous iterations, a veritable phoenix takes the multiplayer stage in buying tera gold. The mouse will guide your Gear to earn tera onlne gold and using A, S, and D respectively will strafe or slow down. It won't wow and amaze on any level to buy tera gold, but it works very well. You could also cheap tera gold so that you could enjoy your game with tera money.

I was very pleased to find this site.I wanted to thank you for this great read!
