I drew it as a kind of sketch for the novel I'm writing, it is taken from chapter 7. It depicts on of the main characters taking care of a robot who is the enemy. I'm not that much farther in writing now, I'm only on chapter 14 and there are 23 chapters I'm going to write. Anyway, here's the drawing.
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 162px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvwCx4nkn7wsUv0VpM_shg1AnzSwjIFvUV_wAfY9d0HaqkEUjf1c5iyQNU_00XNVvim0yrN1XNlQop_jU6i-d4iFUe2Gpsc6muwdoRmACTC62ofVA7zsjnQ8TeGQcpE2iWsu3Xig/s320/sc0023.bmp" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5578112972118316338" />

Also today blaze got a bath, by yours truly. He did not like getting a bath. anyway see you later! and I'll have more art up soon
Bye
signed,
Art LadArt Ladhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10587013765539512464noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15056188.post-74791663324627136932011-02-17T16:24:00.000-08:002011-02-19T14:21:41.014-08:00Guess who's back!!!Hello! it's me artlad. I'm Twelve!, i know i haven't been on in forever but I have got some new artwork and lots of other things. I haven't posted anything because i just moved, twice! and before i moved i was getting into third and fourth grade, so wow! A lot has happened in a couple of years, so I'll try and describe it in a few paragraphs.

first, i started making things called stop motions, it's were you take a bunch of pictures and then edit them together. It really cool watching. This brings me into my second thing. I have an alternate blog i created for movies and stuff. I have a few posts up so here is a link, below
You can go and see it here at here. Check it out.

Second, i haven;t been drawing as much as usual, this is because i got into writing. I still draw things but not as frequently. I do have some things to post.

Third, I started Middle school this year so i have been getting bucketfuls of homework so I've been much busier than usual. But the good thing is I've finally got the hang of managing it so I only have about an hour of homework a night.

fourth, I still draw so this means i'll still be posting things, but they may be different than usual. Like today, i drew a Halo Reach picture, it's a game i got about a month ago, it's pretty cool.

Fifth, Brownie, E-claire, and Blaze have changed a lot. Here they all are. See if you can figure out who is who.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhE8-U3gmRX6c2nEEv6EmZlIO2D_CFQli5y50AcT4nICoG02pGgebcoi4_nW2FjI_h_XR-PamiDaucHK79dSAG3_5Rb8WR4fDYQMv9EQqD0bifDH9DQs4_ztISpr1tpoVCMJrOR_A/s320/DSCN1976.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5575516272624360322" />

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_yapTwjRH9uELnO1to3WXe6wCxGjidxWkYK886iQ5jEs7jTwM1mxtSRIGlxOpXQ8dCb7cec28dbhRyN0-KK763DmeigVo6zXEBAsm_zEvzDVGrUUJOsiv0pvF_89B_uFTnVhxHA/s320/DSCN1977.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5575516878146970258" />

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEil5ajLThNEnySZXAqaDCtHotPj0EfXHUCTumg0-BfEGevNpQAiAfdTQ476Uq7g5UrGdAUVORHT5KeTjVrcZSniMnvKwknOQ2la94xe3Q5q7tptgkAjR6ZcX5JNGUWuADh1Po1xVQ/s320/DSCN0095.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5575517574796242546" />

So that's all i really have to say. And THEN when you’re all done with that you have to edit them on the computer so it looks like they’re moving.

I’m trying to learn how to add in special effects like in real movies and just figured out how to do lazer blasts and music. I put them up on Youtube so you can see.

I helped my sister do one too.

I wish I was as good as the other videos because they look really good. I just need to practice.

Bye!

Your friend,
ThomasArt Ladhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10587013765539512464noreply@blogger.com24tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15056188.post-86513730250884755442008-11-21T05:50:00.000-08:002008-11-21T05:51:54.434-08:00Guess Who?WHO is that?

Could it BE???

Yes! It's me, Art Lad! I'm back!

I'm sorry I haven't done anything a while, but I've got a lot of new artwork to put up, so prepare for the return of Art Lad!!

But first, a catch-up.

Well It's been a long time and since my last entry, my Mom had a baby girl named The Éclair (well, her real name is Elizabeth but we have to give her a cool secret identity for online). Know why she is called that? Because she is really sweet, but really gooey and messy. She has really grown since then. Her first word at two weeks was "hooray." Her first trip was at 11 days of age because my Papa and Grandma got in a terrible car accident and died at the same time. I am still very sad about it, even though it seems like a long time ago. Everyone else in my family is all safe and good and I will be featuring things about them, like pictures and stories I've made up about them.

I've changed a lot too. I'm now 57 inches tall, and I'm ten years old (I added a lot of stuff to my profile update) and in the 4th grade so I am old enough to write my own blogs, but Dad willstill check my spelling and punctuation.

Things got moved around in the house. If I didn't tell you already, I got a loft bed a little before Eclair was born and my other sister, the Brownie, she got the old guest room and she got a new bed. It's the softest bed in the house. The new guest room is down in the basement, near my new headquarters. It is called......the ART CAVE!

My Art Cave is the coolest. It's really just the basement, but still cool.

I can hang my art up for display or to let dry if it's paint.

Know what this is that I'm working on?

It's a Deinonychus baby. To give it scale I will draw in a big nose of a mother sniffing it. Dino mommies could chomp babies up if she wanted, and sometimes dinosaurs had to fall back to cannibalism when times were tough and food was scarce. Know how they know that? Because they found fossilized baby skeletons inside the rib cages of fossilized adults, so that means they got in there by being swallowed.

Mom says when I was little, I was so cute she could have just eaten me up. And when I got older and started giving her trouble, she sometimes wished she had. I don't think that is what happened with the dinosaur babies, but it was a really long time ago and you never know.

Now here is a video of me in the Art Cave, talking about my picture. I just uploaded it to Youtube and it took a while but by the time you see this, it should be ready to watch.

It is kind of bad and needs editing, but I just wanted to do a quick video to show you what things will be like around here from now on. It will be art but it will be more. It will be a multimedia gallery! That's like when they have TVs stuck in the walls along with things you can touch along with zappy light shows all alongside regular paintings. I have an opinion that it will be pretty cool.

There will be more soon. I want to put up something new before we go away for Thanksgiving, but I'm not sure I can. But I still wanted to say HI to everyone who kept coming here and emailing Dad and asking "When is Art Lad coming back?"

Well, now you know when.

See you soon!

Signed,
Art Lad (Thomas)Art Ladhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10587013765539512464noreply@blogger.com44tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15056188.post-1176465721009564582007-04-13T06:59:00.000-07:002007-04-13T05:02:01.036-07:00Bad luck for AbbyAbby is dead.

I got up to feed her and she was floating at the bottom with her head straight down and not moving. She looked really dark too and she is normally bright orange so that means she was dead.

I ran and told Dad right away. It was 5:02 in the morning. Dad was really upset. He laid there with his eyes closed and moved his mouth but no words came out. He said he was praying.

I got Abby for my birthday so she didn't live very long. I think maybe she was sick. Her tank was dirty an awful lot. Dad was always cleaning it. He just cleaned it three days ago. That's what he kept saying this morning. I should have helped clean it more. I feel bad. Now she will never meet my new sister.

I got Abby out by myself. Mom made a noise when I didn't use the net to get her but I wanted to hold her in my arms. But she was too small so I just held her in my hand.

I wrapped her in a burial paper towel and carried her to the bathroom.

Dad called it a burial at sea. He needs to take the trash out too. I just noticed that.

I said a prayer even though my religion teacher says pets don't have souls. She is not very nice for a religion teacher. Abby had a soul. She was always happy to see me. Now she can swim in blue fish heaven and her tank will never have to be cleaned.

Goodbye Abby.

Hey. I just thought: Today is Friday the 13th. It really is bad luck day.

Bye.Art Ladhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10587013765539512464noreply@blogger.com22tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15056188.post-1176178213045910022007-04-09T20:09:00.000-07:002007-04-09T21:14:24.186-07:00Baby EggHi! This is Art Lad and I am writing my own blog now for today. I can type really good now and told Dad I can do it myself but he will still help me with spelling and stuff.

There has been a lot of news going on here. WE ARE HAVING A NEW BABY SISTER! We found out one dinner when we were having movie night on Friday a lot of weeks ago. That was when Mom only had a little bubble belly. NOW IT IS HUGE!

Look! You almost can't see my sister.

This is the second time I can remember having a baby. The first time was when my little sister came along. I was 2 and a half but I remember some of it. I remember getting a new room where I could have all my trains out and Dad helped me paint it. My sister got my old room but I didn't mind because it smelled like the attic and the floor was small and cold. I remember going to the hospital and Mom was all tired looking, but she was happy too. My sister was all tiny and angry then but she got better.

This new one is going to be another girl also. I'm happy because a little brother would break all my stuff. A little sister probably won't even care about my super guys and my fish Abby and my colored pencils.

The baby is supposed to come in May but I bet she will come early because Mom has early babies. I was two weeks early and my sister was three weeks early. If my new sister is 3 weeks early that means she will come next week!

We had Easter on Sunday and that was a lot of fun. We colored eggs. I love coloring eggs. You can make new colors that no one ever saw before. I like to dip my whole hand in the colors but my sister uses a dipper. My way is messy but I like it.

Look at my egg!

Later we went to my friend's house. They have a big back yard and we had an Easter Egg hunt there. I found 27 eggs with different things in them like candy and money and a compass ring to find my way home if I get lost. Me and my friends ran around like nutsos, but Mom couldn't run because the baby has got so big. She let me have the camera to take pictures. So I took one of Mom. It made me think of my egg.

Doesn't she look like a big Easter egg?

I can't wait for the baby!!!

Bye!

ThomasArt Ladhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10587013765539512464noreply@blogger.com11tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15056188.post-1170167633734919512007-01-30T06:31:00.000-08:002007-01-30T06:33:53.756-08:00What is White?

I am back!

I had a busy time in 2006. I like 2007 so far but it has been cold. We got a lot of snow and me and my friends made some snowmen. Here is a picture of one. I am on the end. My sister is in the pink jacket but you can't see her face because she is so hairy!

In school we read a book where one of the characters asked his grandfather, "What is blue?" and got a neat answer. So our teacher asked us to write a poem about a color like that. Since it is snowy now, I picked white. It doesn't rhyme but it can still be a poem because it makes you have feelings. Here it is. Dad fixed the spelling.

What is White?
By Art Lad

White is like the moon glistening in the summer night breeze.
White feels like a baseball getting caught in the warm spring air.
White tastes like gentle spring air blowing in my face.

White looks like snowflakes falling on a wintry night.
White acts like a polar bear looking for sea lions up in the freezing Arctic.
White moves like ice sheets on Antarctica's freezing water's surface.

White lives like penguins swimming in freezing water
Or walking one hundred miles like Emperor penguins do.
(Sound fun?)

White is clouds that blow overhead all over the world.

Now that's what white is.

That's a long poem, isn't it? My teacher saved it to give to Mom and Dad on Open House night. I guess they really liked it.

Now we're learning about fairy tales. Maybe I'll write one of those next.

Bye!
Art Ladhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10587013765539512464noreply@blogger.com14tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15056188.post-1162269864813149152006-10-30T19:30:00.000-08:002006-10-30T21:27:37.693-08:00Happy Birthday to ME!Wow, it's been a long time since I did something here.

I have been really busy at school. I joined the chess club and I got picked to be on Student Council (they pick one boy and one girl from each class. For the 2nd grade it is me and Alyssa. Remember her?). We get to go to special meetings and vote on things like what to do at the Monster Mash and other stuff.

The Monster Mash is a dance and party at my school tomorrow. I will be going in my costume that Grandma made me. I am an Animal Planet TV person who is getting eaten by a snake. My sister is just a leopard. I can't wait for tomorrow. They have good desserts at the Monster Mash and I like dancing in the gym. It is a good place to show my moves.

I am doing a poster for the Monster Mash, but it is not done yet. Here it is:

I need to finish his legs and mouth and do letters on the bottom. I better hurry!

I am writing today because it was a special day. IT WAS MY BIRTHDAY! I am 8! Eight is great!

I got good presents. Uncle BB gave me 20 dollars to spend on anything I want and a baseball card guide so I can see what my cards are worth. Grandma and Papa gave me a talking globe of the world that teaches you where places are and has games you can play by touching it. I already know a lot about the world.

My aunts--that is Mom's sisters--gave me a tennis racket and balls because I am taking tennis lessons. Tennis is hard because I can hit the ball WAY over the fence like in baseball but you aren't supposed to hit the ball like that in tennis. You have to keep it in the lines and that is hard.

My almost favorite present was what everyone got me. On Saturday we all went to the pet store and everyone gave me money--even my sister--to buy a fish! I got a Beta fish. I named her Abby because she is a girl.

She is really pretty with goldy bits on her. Dad gave me a special bowl to put her in. She is on my desk and I like to watch her at night. It makes me sleepy.

The best present was from Dad. I really like the Justice League cartoons and have all the figures from it. Except one. He is Solomon Grundy and he is the hardest one to get. They only made like a thousand or two of him and the only way to buy him was to go to a comic show in California. He is on ebay but he costs WAY a lot of money, more than Uncle BB even gave me.

Well, DAD GOT HIM!

I couldn't believe it. He is the coolest figure and he's as big as Doomsday. Now Superman will have some guys he can REALLY fight.

Our neighbor down the street collects figures even though he is old. When I showed him my Solomon Grundy he got all excited and yelled at Dad because he says Solomon Grundy can't come out of the box. Dad just laughed and said "Toys are meant to be played with." That got our neighbor even madder. He told me my Solomon Grundy would never be worth as much now that he came out of the box.

But he is wrong. I wouldn't sell him for a million zillion dollars.

Bye!
ThomasArt Ladhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10587013765539512464noreply@blogger.com25tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15056188.post-1149651804197453842006-07-10T19:43:00.000-07:002006-07-10T19:39:44.080-07:00Copy Brownie CatMy sister is a big copycat now. First she had to go to swim class with me. Now she says she wants to play baseball. She is actually a good hitter sometimes when Dad pitches them slow.

I play catch with her too, but I get bored because I have to throw it the baby underhand way.

At first she was no good, but she is getting better. She says she gets better when she wears her lucky shoes:

Also she makes a face. Like this:

Mom saw it and said, "What is that mean face for?"

And she said, "It's NOT a mean face. It's my face that says, 'I'm gonna GO for it!'"

I think it's silly.

But I took her picture anyway. She wants me to do a baseball card for her too, but that is crazy.

Bye!Art Ladhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10587013765539512464noreply@blogger.com13tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15056188.post-1152290292173181942006-07-07T00:32:00.000-07:002006-07-07T09:47:15.646-07:00Guess What?BLAZE IS BACK!!!

Bad guys stole him but Dad GOT HIM BACK!

He looks skinny to me. I don't think they fed him. Mom says he's still fat. But I gave him some turkey out of the refrigerator and he ate the whole bag almost.

Blaze had a lot of boo-boos, but he was so happy to see my sister, he started doing his happy dance. That's where he rolls around on the rug. I got a picture.

Dad says he has to clean the rug now. Blaze is kinda stinky. He smells like pee and Fritos.

I am going to do a Welcome Home card for Blaze and put it on his cage.

My sister got so happy she started to cry. Dad says that happens.

I didn't cry. I just yelled real loud.

Bye!Art Ladhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10587013765539512464noreply@blogger.com13tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15056188.post-1149651389547805642006-06-06T19:23:00.000-07:002006-06-06T21:01:47.896-07:00Catch This!SCHOOL IS DONE! I am now a second grader! But not until September when I go.

Meanwhile, I am having swim lessons again, only now my sister is swimming too. She was scared of the water but today she put her whole head under. I can do that easy now. I can hold my breath for 28 Mississippis.

We had our last normal baseball game AND I CAUGHT AN OUT! It is hard to catch them and only Jack, Keaton and me have made catched outs. The hitter zanged it at the pitcher and he just jumped away. Dad said if you stand in the way you either catch it or it hit you in the guts. Take your pick, he says. So I glombered on it and put my other hand over the glove and it was out!

Here's a picture Mom took. You can't see the ball because it is in my glove. See everyone turned around to see where it went? IN MY GLOVE!

Dad freaked out. It made him really happy. He bought me baseball cards and I got a Manny Ramirez rookie card and a special card with a piece of a real baseball bat in it. Dad said those are probably hard to find. I like baseball cards. Dad has super old ones that don't look neat. They look old. My ones are shiny and cool.

I am learning to use the scanner and more of the art programs on the computer, so I made a baseball card of me.

The letters didn't come out shiny, but this was only my first. I will do another and it will be better.

Guess what, though? Dad said it was the last game but HE WAS WRONG! We are playing in a Tournament against all the other teams. Tonight we played the Rockies and we almost put a skunk on them! It was 20 to ZERO. But then at the almost last inning, they got four runs. We got more too. The score stopped at 26 to 4. WE WON!

I got four hits and knocked in four runs. ALSO I got home every time I batted. So that's 8 points I helped get. I even stole third base and the guy had the ball and tried to hit me with it in his glove, but I flopped down and slid onto the plate.

So we won! That means Friday we fight another team, either the Pirates or the Cubs. If we beat them, we play another team, and if we beat them we WIN the Series for the whole town.

I am happy because Papa and Grandma came from New Hampshire and they got to see the game. Papa still has a broken up shoulder but he clapped for me by hitting his leg with his other hand. And he yells louder than Dad. When I stole third base, he got so excited, he yelled a swear word!

If we win on Friday, I will do another baseball card of me. Only now I will use a different picture. Which should I use?

This one?

Or this one?

You tell me and I will do that one.

Bye!
Thomas
Art Ladhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10587013765539512464noreply@blogger.com17tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15056188.post-1148962757323518192006-05-28T18:59:00.000-07:002006-05-29T21:24:34.306-07:00It's Super Pig!!

SCHOOL IS OVER NEXT WEEK!

I think. There is a party this week anyway.

Next year my sister starts kindergarten at my school. Mom cried last week because Dad told my sister she'd be riding the bus by herself. But that is not true. I said I would ride the baby kindergarten bus (it comes first, before my bus) so she wouldn't be scared. BUT I AM ONLY DOING IT A COUPLE OF TIMES.

Dad asked me what my favorite things were about school. I liked sharing time, which is like show-and-tell, only they call it sharing time. I liked having computers in our class because they used to have computers in this smelly room that smelled like yucky water and that was where we had to go last year.

I guess I liked my teacher best because she would let me do funny things. We did a lot of writing this year and she asked us to write stories. Sometimes she would give us the start, like "Once upon a time, there was a big cat named Goo-Goo Boy..." and then you had to finish the sentence or write a story. We also had to learn about the pieces of sentences. We learned about subjects and nouns and verbs and some others, like the ones that describe things. You know, like saying "the fat dog" and fat is the describer.

Dad says it's an adjective. That's right.

Anyway, one day in class, we had to write a big long sentence using all the parts that we learned. It had to have the subject, what he did, where he did it and when he did it. Some people didn't even do the whole thing. Some people did dumb sentences like "Andrew wrote on the paper in the class today."

I wrote this:

Andrew said it was dumb, but when Mrs. Dodd got the papers and read them, she got to mine and made a noise in her nose and had to go blow it before stuff came out. Some people laughed because they thought it was funny. Mrs. Dodd said I should do a whole story about the Adventures of Super Pig.

Here's a drawing I did in school waiting for the bus:

See? He's burping. I will do a better picture with my markers. But I made up the story in my head: Super Pig is the superest animal on earth and he goes around saving them from hunters and mean guys. He even saves dogs and wolves and things that eat pigs.

When he's done being Super Pig, he rubs mud on his face so they look like glasses and then he goes to work as Pork Kent. I don't know what he does for work, though. I still have to figure it out.

If I get the story done before school is over, I will give it to Mrs. Dodd as a present because I won't have her next year. I will miss her. I had her for kindergarten AND first grade.

If I don't get the story done in time, I will just give her a color drawing of Super Pig and write a letter. It will say:

Dear Mrs. Dodd,

Thank you for teaching to me all this long time. Here is a picture of Super Pig. You are just like him. I will come by sometimes to say HI!

Love,
Thomas

Dad says Mrs. Dodd might think I said she was a pig, because of the sentence I wrote. But she knows I was talking about the super part. She is smart and she teaches all about sentences. Dad doesn't. I bet he is wrong. Dads are not all the time right, you know.

I will write more when school is over NEXT WEEK!!!

Bye!
Thomas
Art Ladhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10587013765539512464noreply@blogger.com10tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15056188.post-1148166608777229962006-05-20T16:01:00.000-07:002006-05-20T22:17:29.120-07:00ZOW! I came BACK!I am back! Dad showed me all the emails from people who wondered where I went. The answer is--nowhere! We came back from Florida and I have been home the whole time since. But when I saw how long since my last time--it was 74 days!--I made of list of what happened since then.

--In March Dad got sick and went in the hospital (he is all better now).

--At the last of March Grandma and Papa came to visit from New Hampshire and Grandma's birthday happened (she is 62!! I made her a card and made this hat from a kit. I took the picture. She looks like the Statue of Liberty, only not green.)

--In April my aunt and uncle and cousins Gregory and Baby Grace came for Easter.

I drew this picture for Baby Grace. Blue is her favorite color. Guess who it is!

--On April 23rd Mom and Dad's wedding turned 12 years old (I made them a card. I don't have a picture to go with it.)

--Then on April 30th my sister turned 5!

I took that picture too! I am doing more pictures and not drawing so much.

Dad took this picture. I am 7 and a half on the same day as my sister's birthday, but she wouldn't give me ANY cake!

I still made her a card and gave her a Robopet to play with my Roboraptor I got for Christmas.

(But his head got bit off.)

--On May 3rd Grammy and Grandpa came to visit from Ohio and Grammy's birthday happened (she is 60 now and she was NOT happy about it).

--On May the 5th Papa got his shoulder repaired by an operation. It is getting better but it still hurts (I made him a card. He said he would send a picture of the holes in his shoulder but he hasn't yet).

--In May I also started playing games in Little League (we have practiced since April). Last year I was in T-Ball league and this year now we hit balls from a pitcher. I was no good at the start but now I am getting good. Dad practices with me in the back yard.

The other day, I knocked Dad's balls into the fence and one of them got stuck! It took Dad a long time to pull it out.

--Last week I got a LOFT BED!

It is the best. And I don't fall out. The only bad thing is Blaze can't sleep on it. He lays on the rug and cries!

That is my list so far. But there is even more. Dad's birthday is soon. And SCHOOL IS OVER SOON! I learned lots of math and did more writing than ever. It has been a busy time.

Next time I will go back and tell you about some Disney things I took pictures of. And I made up a story called Super Pig that I will tell you.

Bye!

Thomas
Art Ladhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10587013765539512464noreply@blogger.com14tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15056188.post-1141765707701125632006-03-07T12:01:00.000-08:002006-03-07T13:08:27.760-08:00Eaten almost by alligators!

I am back from Florida and Disney and we had the BEST time. I am going to live in Florida when I grow up. Know why? It is FULL of lizards! I could have a whole job following them and catching them.

We had lots of fun at Disney--even when Dad got sick and threw up and started seeing things--and I will tell about that soon.

But our first time in Florida was to go to Grammy and Grandpa's. They live in a new house with trees and lizards everywhere. They are very fast like super-speed Flash lizards, but I have fast eyes and I could see them. I tried to catch some but they were too fast. I did get to pet one with my finger before he ZHOOOPED away in the air. Maybe when I am older I will catch them.

Dad has bad eyes and didn't see ANY lizards. He gave me his camera which is fast and you can take lots of pictures at once. So I creeped into a bush and waited. Papa in New Hampshire used to hunt things and he said the best way to see animals is to DON'T MOVE. So I didn't. It was hot in the bushes and Dad was making lots of noise, but I was super quiet and then ZOW! There he was.

I took a zillion pictures. Later, when I put them on the TV I saw these two. Can you see him? He was right front of Dad the whole time and he couldn't see him. But I did!

Here is the first one. See him?

Then he slinked around the tree and came back on a branch to look at me. I got him then too!

These are the best pictures I ever took. I think I want to learn more about cameras so I can be like Austin Stevens on Animal Planet. He travels all around the world shooting snakes and lizards and then makes a TV show out of it. I would like that for a job.

I saw a snake too. And we got chased by an alligator AS BIG AS ME! Dad was so brave he carried me away from the swamp and we got away. He said if the alligator had grabbed me he would have jumped on him and made him grab him instead. I wish Blaze had been with us. Blaze would have made an alligator sandwich.

But it is good no one got hurt. The alligator was just protecting his home. I snuck up later and got some more pictures. I stayed a ways away so they aren't very good.

But you can see him here.

I think he really wanted to eat me. I never had anything want to eat me before. It is scary.

Later we saw more lizards and went swimming. Then we went to Disney and I had the best time, even if Dad didn't go. He stayed in bed at the hotel and talked to people who weren't there. It was kind of funny. I will tell you about Disney soon.

Bye!

Thomas
Art Ladhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10587013765539512464noreply@blogger.com18tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15056188.post-1139983358058898182006-02-14T18:52:00.000-08:002006-02-15T06:05:24.996-08:00Valentine Dinos!

Wow, it has been a month almost. I have been very busy. I am reading a ton now and reading things all by myself. I am liking reading almost as much as drawing. But drawing is still my favorite.

I tried to draw a goodbye card for Great-Papa because he died a couple Sundays ago and he is in heaven now. Dad went and saw the body. I was sad because he was nice. We had good talks on the phone, even though he talked funny--like Grandma only worse. We both liked baseball. I sent him a thank-you because he sent me money at Christmas and I used it to buy some paper and pens. I sent Dad a picture to give to him. He is the first person I ever met who was dead.

We also had some busy things at school, like Fun Night, where the school gets like a carnival and there are rides and games to play. That was fun!

But today was Valentine's Day. I made special cards for my good friends and the rest got cards from a box. I made Mrs. Dodd a heart one and I did that for my friends. Caitlin gave me a lollypop and a coupon to get a donut because she knows I like them. She is nice for a girl and Dad says it's okay to be friends with girls so we are friends.

I made her a Valentine out of red paper and glued squiggly white paper around it. She liked that.

I made this card for my Dad. It has dinosaurs in it. They didn't have cards in the dinosaur days so this tells what they did instead. My sister screamed but Dad liked it. I colored it on the computer and wrote the words myself. Here it is.

We are going away on vacation soon. Dad says it needs to come sooner. He is really tired and says he can't wait. We are going to Florida where it is sunny and part of the time we are going to Disney. That will be neat. I will draw lots of pictures. I really want to see the Animal Kingdom.

Guess what? I am in a book!

Me and the Animal Planet Lady and the Twinkie! It is this book.

It doesn't have any of my pictures, but that is okay. I have never been in a book before.

Dad is not in the book, which I think is dumb. But he doesn't mind it. He says he is more happy that I am in there. I guess I need to put more stuff here in case people come looking.

It was a neat thing to find out. It was like an extra Valentine for me.

But not as good as the lollypop Caitlin gave me.

Bye!

Thomas
Art Ladhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10587013765539512464noreply@blogger.com11tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15056188.post-1137603034411966622006-01-19T07:49:00.000-08:002006-01-19T10:07:33.256-08:00Crazy Lady!

I drew another portrait, but this was of someone I never saw before. Dad said the police do this when bad guys get away and they have an artist draw the picture of bad guy just from what people say they saw. That would be a neat job.

The new portrait was of the Crazy Lady that came to our house. She came over when I was at school and Dad was at work so only Blazey was around to protect Mom and my sister. Then yesterday she drove her car at Mom and my sister and was going to get out and yell some more, but Blaze stopped her. He thinks my sister is his puppy! One time, when Dad was tickling my sister and she screamed, Blaze came over and bit my dad on the ear, so you know he likes her.

Anyway, even though she was in her car, my sister saw her and also sawthe whole thing last time. She told me what the lady looked like, so I drew a cartoon head of her.

This is the Crazy Lady:

"Does that look like her?" I asked my sister.

"Yes," she said. "Except for one thing. You forgot to make her mouth REALLY open, like Lucy in Charlie Brown."

This morning, the Crazy Lady did something else but Dad wants to tell about it. Mom is real upset about the Crazy Lady. Dad was mad at first, but now he has a smarty, sneaky look when I ask about her. When Dad gets the smarty sneaky look it means he has a trick or a surprise that he knows about that you don't. He has it on RIGHT NOW while he is helping me write this.

I wish I could draw it. It is a good look.

Bye!
Art Ladhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10587013765539512464noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15056188.post-1137602402236397952006-01-17T19:17:00.000-08:002006-01-18T08:51:04.910-08:00Cartoon heads!

Some people sent me emails saying they wanted more things here. But I have been really busy at school. I am reading A LOT now. I had homework this week where I had to read two books and talk about them. I picked a book about wild cats and a book about lizards.

I am doing pictures of people now--Dad says they are portraits--and it is even harder to draw people's faces than drawing the Roboraptor. Even when you tell people to sit still they are always moving in their face. So I am drawing them like comic strip people, like Mr. Feiffer does.

Here is one of my sister:

And here's what she really looks like with her bear.

Because it is a comic it does not really look like her, except maybe her hair. Dad said a lot of artists do these and other funny portraits of people in funny ways, but I forget what they're called [caricatures]. Our art teacher says it's good to want to draw like Mr. Feiffer, but Mr. Feiffer and all the others had to learn drawing rules first. Then you can do what you want, she said.

Dad said that's true, but I've been breaking the rules at home FOREVER so it's okay to break the rules when I draw. That made me happy. Rules make drawing hard and then it's no fun.
Art Ladhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10587013765539512464noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15056188.post-1136433022767733652006-01-05T07:39:00.000-08:002006-01-05T07:21:11.380-08:00Out of my head

School is back and I am at a new table. I sit with Derek and Devin and Luis. No one talks to Luis because he doesn't speak like us. He speaks Spanish so all he can talk to is the teacher because she can speak Spanish. Also Luis poked somebody with a pencil and got in trouble at the beginning of the year.

Dad said HE would poke somebody too if no one could understand him when he talked (and he talks a lot). So I got an idea and started watched Dora the Explorer with my sister. Dora is loud and bossy like my sister and that's why she likes it. But Dora speaks Spanish sometimes and they do it on Sesame Street too.

Anyway, I learned how to say "Hi"--you say it "Hola!"--to Luis and told him my name. He got really excited and started talking fast to me. I will have to learn some more before we can have a real talk.

But Mrs. Dodd was really happy with me and now she has me sit with him. I hope he won't poke me with a pencil. We are amigos now, so that means friends.

We had art class and my teacher told me I was good at drawing pictures out of my head, but I should try something new. She gave me homework: I have to draw a picture by looking at something and then drawing what I see. It is easier when it is all in your head, but when you have to copy what you see it is tricky.

I did my Roboraptor.

Here's how he really looks.

Here's my drawing.

Dad thought I traced a picture of Roboraptor, but Mom watched me (she took the picture) and said no. Dad couldn't believe it! He says it is really good, but I wish I got the neck better.

My teacher really liked it too. She put it on the wall outside. Everyone else did pictures of their Mom or Dad or dog or a bowl of fruit. Mine is the only dinosaur.

Luis asked me what it was, and I said "Esto es El Roboraptor!" but I don't know how to say more in Spanish. I wanted to tell him all the tricks it can do.

I have a lot to learn this year.

Adios!

Thomas
Art Ladhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10587013765539512464noreply@blogger.com14tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15056188.post-1136253308819737322006-01-02T19:45:00.000-08:002006-01-02T20:06:53.683-08:00Spring is Sleeping

Holy cow! I was so busy I didn't tell you what I did.

First: I GOT THE ROBORAPTOR!!

Santa left me a huge box and I KNEW it was the ROBORAPTOR!!

He is bigger than a cat! He is almost as big as my sister.

I also got a big pile of paper. I don't have to use scratch paper from Mom and Dad any more. It is all for me!

But I shared some with my sister. Two pieces.

I also got some games and stuff. My sister did too. And she got a cat she wanted. She also has her own Fairy Godmother. Remember the lady who sent me the markers so I can draw on glass? Well, she sent more stuff for my sister. She decorated the box and had glitter stars inside and my sister went crazy. She won't let Mom throw out the box because it is too cool (she DID do neat squiggles on the outside). Anyway, inside were TWO cute dogs (not alive ones) for each of us. Plus a book for me about drawing which is really good. I am already learning how to draw roads and things so they look like they go off in the distance. My sister got a book about brownies (that's her nickname!). Not the kind you eat, but these little fairy things. Dad went crazy! He likes comic books and studied them or something and said the man who made the brownies up is very famous in comic books.

Anyway, we are doing thank-you notes this week and my sister and I have to do something really special. She is the nicest person I don't know.

But that stuff came after Christmas and I didn't even finish about Christmas. I got some more modeling clay and some Play-Doh, which is good because I like making statues. But I couldn't stop playing with the raptor. He can be friendly and wag his tail or he can be mean and bite you. You can also put him in your room and make him a watchdog. He pretends he's asleep but if someone walks past him, he starts up YELLING AND BITING. You have seen Grandma when that happened.

Yeah, we went to my Grammy and Grandpa's house in Ohio. It is a long drive but I had Roboraptor with me. When I got there: MORE PRESENTS.

Aunt Allison, my favorite aunt, gave me a magic kit (they had a magic guy at a party once and he made cards and hats and things disappear and it was very interesting). My other favorite Aunt gave me a dinosaur sticker book, which I already finished.

But my favorite part was seeing Great-Grammy. She is the oldest one in our family and she was really sick in her breathing like my dad was, but she got better. She is nicer than Grammy and Grandpa and doesn't mind when I make a mess on the table. I did her a drawing and wrote her a get-well note (I am getting REALLY good at writing words). She is 86 which is almost 80 years older than me. That is a long time to be old. She has neat old pictures that she shows me. I like old pictures sometimes more than new ones. They call them black-and-white pictures but the ones Great-Grammy has are not. They look kind of brown and very neat. The people in them have strange faces but they look alive, like they might talk to you. I wish I could draw or even take pictures like that.

I saw all my cousins and we had fun, but everyone wanted to play with the Roboraptor and I had to share. There were two funny things: Roboraptor bit Grandpa in his pants when we got there. Then later, he bit Dad's finger and Dad pretended like he was being eaten! He rolled around hollering and yelling and everyone got mad because they said he'd scare my baby cousin Grace. But she is never scared of Dad. She laughs at everything he does. She calls him Unka Munka, which means Uncle Monkey Face for the face he does.

Now we are back home and I still love my Roboraptor. I took video of him dancing and eating one of the Wise Men from the Baby Jesus story. Dad says we will put a video up soon.

I am a little sad because I go back to school tomorrow. I like school, but I liked the vacation too. It snowed in Ohio where we went and I made a snowman.

I tried to make a snow snake, but it just looked like a snowman that fell over and died.

There are no colors on the trees now, just brown like in Great-Grammy's pictures. So I drew a spring picture to cheer myself up. Here it is:

I was going to make it a hidden-thing picture, with secret stuff inside it. I did put a few things hidden in there. There's a dinosaur footprint, a snake (not the one on the ground but another one with his mouth open) and a coyote. You can see them although I didn't really finish it. It is tough because I can see all the things and then don't know how to hide them.

When Grammy saw it, she said I was doing the Garden of Eating story, where Adam and his wife eat an apple and then have to get dressed and leave. We learned that once in church school. I didn't like the story because the snake is the bad guy and on Animal Planet they always say snakes are good and not to be scared. And anyway, how could he even talk? Snakes hiss and they don't have ears to hear with.

I had other questions about the story and Dad talked to me about them. But he said not to talk to Grammy about them. She goes to church almost every day.

So I told her it might be a Garden of Eating story.

But this is my secret: I just miss spring when it is sleeping and I wanted to draw a picture of it.

Wow! This is the longest one ever. Dad has been helping me write it for two days now.

Anyway, I have school tomorrow and need to go to bed. I had the BEST Christmas ever. Happy New Year!

Bye!
Thomas

Art Ladhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10587013765539512464noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15056188.post-1134965599659041392005-12-18T18:57:00.000-08:002005-12-19T05:51:46.056-08:00Santa is coming!

Santa is coming in one week! I saw him at the store and told him what I wanted. I want paper like Mom and Dad have in their printer but I want a pack all of my own so they won't get mad when I take theirs.

I also want the Roboraptor. He looks like a dinosaur and a robot at the same time and you can control him. I really want it but Mom says it is too big and I have too many toys already.

This weekend Dad told Mom he was going to recount all of his comic books and give some away. He had the boxes out and stacked really high and told Mom not to come down because she would knock the comics over and he would have to start all over.

I decided to go through my toys and give some things away. And there's also some things Dad gets from work that are neat toys and brand new and we drive them over to the church to give to kids who don't have a lot of money. Some of them don't even have money for shoes or food, so we give toys and money sometimes.

When I was making stacks of toys to give away, I noticed something: Dad wasn't doing any counting. I went over and looked.

The counting is A TRICK. He built a HUGE shelf for Mom's flowers so she can grow them inside. It has lights and everything. IT IS HUGE. Dad is hiding it for Christmas by stacking all his comic book boxes around and he says Mom hates comics and will never come down now. He is a sneaky Dad!

Then I read some Christmas books to my sister, but then I wanted to do my own. I got this idea that maybe an elf would go crazy just before Christmas and steal Santa's sleigh. Only he wouldn't have reindeers, but his pet alligator. And he would go around giving lizards and fish and hamsters to all the kids who asked for them but their parents said no. I ask for goldfish every year and never get them. If the crazy elf was real, he would get me a goldfish. And the Roboraptor.

I only just started, but here's the sleigh.

I need to color it in and add a bag of snakes in the back. The elf should have a red beard, like my Dad is growing. You should see it it is really scratchy and it's not red on the sides. He has white whiskers on the side and Mom said he getting old and Dad says we're not going to talk about it.

When the crazy elf goes to the first house, he visits two brothers who asked for a pet iguana. When the flying alligator lands they are shocked out of their brains because they think the alligator is for them. They are also worried they could get eaten, but he is a good alligator and only eats the abomible snowmen that live in the cold places like they showed in Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer.

See their faces?

I am working on faces a lot in my drawing. They are hard! I tried to do one of Rachel my babysitter but it didn't come out like her real face. Parts of it looked her, but other parts didn't. But I think I did a good job with the boys. They look like they have to pee in their pants!

I have to think up a good name for the crazy elf, but I think I will call the alligator Robbie the Reptile Reindeer.

I can't wait for Christmas!

Bye!
Art Ladhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10587013765539512464noreply@blogger.com8tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15056188.post-1134101952317053532005-12-08T19:11:00.000-08:002005-12-08T20:22:51.493-08:00Coyote and the Cactus

I got to use paints in art class. I LOVE paints but they get messy and Mom says I can't use them so much. But I am better at them.

I wanted to do a rainbow at first, but then I wanted to do a sunset. I saw a picture of a sunset in the desert and it looked like a rainbow going down, so I did that.

Then I glued some black shadows on them Can you guess what they are?

It is a coyote and a cactus.

This coyote is a good coyote, not like the bad one on Road Runner that always gets into accidents. I am going to do a whole story. The coyote will be running from hunters and just before he gets caught, the nice cactus will drop some of its splinters and make the men jump and hop and get stuck and run away.

Then the coyote and the cactus will be friends after that. But they won't see each other a lot because cactuses don't move.

Then one day in years from now it will be really dry, the driest time ever and the coyote will find his friend, but the cactus is SO thirsty he could die. So the coyote will run and find a camel because they have LOTS of water in their bumps and he will come and give the cactus a drink. Then the two friends will sit together and watch the sun set like a rainbow.

Dad says it is a really good story. So maybe I will do more.

For now, there's just this picture. I like how they are friends but I wish the cactus could move. Then they could go on vacation together.

We are on vacation soon for Christmas. I got my list all done for Santa. Mom needs to mail it, but I have to do a picture for Santa first.

Bye!
Thomas
Art Ladhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10587013765539512464noreply@blogger.com13tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15056188.post-1133243016333944332005-11-28T18:29:00.000-08:002005-11-28T21:55:01.676-08:00Flying Around!

I have been SUPER busy since my birthday!

We are doing a lot at my school. Right now we are learning about Africa and math and I am reading a LOT. I read enough to win a prize: 20 books since the beginning of school so I got a gift card to buy books at the store. I am reading lots of lizard and butterfly books.

I think I will do that when I am grown up. I will have a lizard and butterfly zoo.

I got a special cage and a jar of caterpillars for my birthday that I helped grow into butterflies. They all hatched but one. I am like their dad. I named them Austin and Devin and Simba and Caitlin and Fred.

I took this one for a walk.

I think that's Austin. Soon they will die so I wanted him to see outside, even though it was cold. It will be sad to have so many butterfly funerals.

Dad gave me the butterfly set and it was my first favorite present. My second favorite came from my uncle BB. He sent me a flying Pteranodon that you charge up and has propellers on the wings. You throw it up and you can fly it. I painted some lucky colors on it first so it would go fast and not break or crash.

We went to our soccer field, which is about 5 miles long. Dad tried to do it but it crashed a lot.

Then I did it.

I'm telling Dad to run with it like a kite. When he did, I turned the propellers on.

(Next time I will tell Dad BEFORE I put on the propellers so he can get his fingers out of the way. But it was okay because Mom had Band-Aids in the car.)

Dad threw it and WOOOOOSSSSSHH! I flew it and it went around in a big circle. Dad had to jump onto the ground so he wouldn't get hit!

Then a big wind came and the Pteranodon went up UP UP into the sky. It was really hundreds of feet up. Even the kids over at the playground near the field yelled and clapped.

But the Pteranodon kept going.

"Oh no!" said Dad and then he RAN. He is fast when he has to chase something and ZOW! he ran across the field. But it was too late. The Pteranodon went flying out of the park and off away over the tops of the houses.

I wasn't even sad because it was the best flying time EVER.

Mom wasn't sad. But she was mad because Dad was gone. He ran through people's yards and got in trouble. And he still couldn't find it.

I caught up to Dad and we looked together. Everyone was outside putting up their lights and a lot of them saw the Pteranodon but no one saw where it went.

We walked around a long time till Mom made us get in the car. She was following us.

And then guess what? When we were driving back, WE SAW IT! It was just sitting in somebody's yard, right out front on the grass.

Dad said it was a half-a-mile away from the park.

Good thing I painted the lucky colors on.

I will have more pictures soon, but we are really busy because it is Christmas time almost. Maybe I will do a special picture here soon.

Bye!

Thomas
Art Ladhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10587013765539512464noreply@blogger.com9tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15056188.post-1131580845368949872005-11-09T17:44:00.000-08:002005-11-09T16:00:45.390-08:00The Hairball Express!

Guess what? I was Star of the Week last week and got to pick my favorite books and be line leader and bring someone for lunch. So I brought Dad!

He ate lunch with me and my friends Nathan and Derrick and also some girls who come and sit too.

(Dad wants me to say who, but I don't want to. JUST SOME GIRLS!)

Then we played out on the climbing wall. Alyssa stepped on my hand and I fell about 50 feet and landed on the ground but I was okay.

Inside we had sharing time and story time mooshed together. I told everyone about my Dad and then he told my favorite stories. One was Mr. Gaiman's Goldfish book.

The other was The Hairball Express.

It is OUR story. We made it up together when we were waiting for my baby sister to come out. Back then we had a kitty Moxie--this was way before we got Blaze--and she was a funny kitty. She would bite you if you grabbed her. But if you sat quiet or just played trains, she would come and sit with you or even jump on the train table and move the trains around.

Moxie was an old biting cat and she bit me really bad so Mom and Dad said she had to go live with Grandma so she wouldn't bite me or my baby sister. I was sad about that so I told Dad to make up a story so that Moxie could come visit. And so that's how it started.

Anyway, Dad told the story from his memory. Sometimes he does the sound of the train and old man who snores and the mean dogs and sometimes I do them. I did them in my class while Dad told the story. Everyone yelled at the part where the Train Police tried to stop the train! It is the best part, except the end. And where Moxie saves Tuffy from the dogs.

Dad says his friends on his Web place want to hear the story too. Dad wrote it down and I want to draw pictures for it, but it is hard! It will take a LONG time to do all the pictures.

Here is just one I did. That's the train, the Hairball Express.

I licked my finger and rubbed it to make it swishy like it's fast, though.

But look--I forgot to draw Moxie in the cab.

Dad gave me a bunch of pictures of Moxie and the old station near our house and some other train pictures. They help me draw good pictures, but I think I might cut them out and glue them on paper. I forget the name of that.

(Dad says it's a collage.)

I think the best thing would be Dad telling the story. He says he can put his voice on his Web place but it would be long.

Maybe he could do both.Art Ladhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10587013765539512464noreply@blogger.com16tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15056188.post-1130977948037656082005-11-02T18:27:00.000-08:002005-11-02T20:18:31.953-08:00Old and tired

I am really tired from being sick and having my party. Papa says you get tired more when you get old, so I guess he's right. I have lots to tell you, but maybe later.

My sister got me lots of candy, though. And Grandma hid some candy around the house so I got to find it. It was like my own trick-or-treat. Grandma is the best!

And LOOK WHAT FLIP DREW! I love the SNAKE! It looks like ME!

I want to draw like her.

Oh! And L. did one too. Silly Dad was supposed to put that in last time, but forgot. I like that big lizard!! Thank you!!

Last week we had a scary thing happen but I told it all over at Dad's Web place. Here is a bit of it:

I was just then drawing a picture of a mouse digging in his hole. And guess what? At the same time I heard scratching and digging noises! Like a mouse!

I looked all around.

Then I heard it: There was scratching noises coming from the garage door!

I told Dad. He was putting dishes in the dishwasher. I waved my mouse picture and yelled, I said, "Dad, I think there's a mouse like this one scratching on the garage." But all Dad said was, "Oh, I forgot to feed the dog!" The garage is where the dog food is.

And my sister says, "I'll do it." She'll do ANYTHING not to have to eat her beans. Also she loves Blaze and she always gives him more food than anyone. So Dad gave her the scoop and she walked to the garage door.

I couldn't hear the scratching then, but that's because Blaze started growling. He was under the table eating crumbs and all of a sudden he was going GGGURRRURRR.

I got scared and jumped up on my chair. I yelled my head off! "Don't open the door! There's a monster in the garage!" But my sister never listens to anything. She just made a nyah-nyah face and opened the door.

Then she screamed her face off!

(I tried to tell her.)

I looked and there were lotsa blurs. But I saw it: A GIANT MONSTER RAT FACE was in the garage with teeth right by my sister!

If you want to read the rest--and see my picture of the MONSTER RAT FACE, go read it over there. I'm the #2 story.

And Dad promises there are no dots at the end to make you wait.

Bye!
Thomas
Art Ladhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10587013765539512464noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15056188.post-1130714288654524862005-10-30T17:06:00.000-08:002005-10-30T17:06:51.176-08:00Seven!

I AM SEVEN!

I had my party yesterday before my birthday and it was GREAT. Dad made an obstacle course in the back yard and you had to crawl through tubes and roll a tire and jump in shoeboxes and climb a wall and dig through hay and go down a slide and the fastest one got a prize.

Here I am on the slide.

I did it in 1 minute 11 seconds. I was the fastest! Evan was second with 1 minute 25 seconds. Silly Dad was slowest because he got stuck in the crawling tube and all you could see was his legs. Then he rolled the tire over himself and that was funny too. It took him 3 minutes and 44 seconds.

Then we had cake. Grandma made me a lizard cake using one of my pictures! She says they do it at the store but she learned how too.

Here was my picture.

And here was the cake! She did good!

Then I got presents from my friends: a Transformer and some new brush pens and some modeling clay and place to keep my bugs so I can look at them when I draw them.

Then we went back outside and the obstacle course was GONE! Dad was sitting on the step breathing hard because he took everything out and turned the yard into a safari hunt. He went FAST, faster than on the obstacle course. He hid 88 lizards and snakes all over and we each got a hat and a box and ran like crazy to catch them. I got 15 snakes and lizards. Nick got so excited he threw up. Afterwards Dad did the count and said there are still 11 lizards and snakes on the loose out there.

They were not real. They were rubber lizards and snakes.

Here we are. Dad wore a hat too.

Then something bad happened.

Right after everyone left my head started to hurt and that was bad because I woke up next day with a 103 fever.

I am SICK on my birthday.

I still opened my presents. I got a Black Canary from Justice League and some other super guys like King Kong and a lizard. I also got a special video camera for kids called a Vidster so I can do my own movie and not use Dad's camera. I will put my movies on here. Grandma gave me new jammies and a spin art kit! My uncle gave me dollars that I can buy anything I want. I think I will buy some paper or maybe a video game.

I watched Scooby Doo with Dad all day and then I fell asleep! I never do that since I was a baby. I woke now and have a 101 fever. I am sad because tonight is when they trick-or-treat in my town and now I can't go. So I am wearing my cheetah costume and have to watch out the window. Dad says he will stay with me because he can't stand seeing a sad cheetah in the window.

My sister is going as a fox and she says she will ask for two candies--one for her and one for me. Sometimes she is a good sister.

I am happy anyway for all my presents. And for the cards people sent me on my email. Thank you!

I still wish I could trick or treat.

Bye!

ThomasArt Ladhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10587013765539512464noreply@blogger.com22
